Bill James, Past President of Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California, had a soft spot in his heart for older Bassets, many of whom have nagging medical problems like Alf, above. Read Alf's touching story. Bill knew he was terminally ill and wanted to leave a legacy to the old Bassets of Southern California, so he started The Patchwork Fund. Bill passed away March 3, 2001.

 The Patchwork Fund is being administered by Basset Hound Rescue of So. California, a 501[c][3] organization (federal id #77 0503016). Income from The Patchwork Fund will be used to assist senior Basset Hounds in the southern California area who are in need of veterinary care and without financial resources.
