Basset Hound Rescue named her Sadie when they rescued her from
L.A. County in 1999. I drove to Whittier to meet her, and from the moment
she walked up to me and looked
me in the eyes, I knew she was mine. From that time on she was my closest
friend, my confidant,
and the best little love I could ever ask for. I named her Lucy because she
made me laugh just like Lucille
Ball in "I Love Lucy." I can't begin to thank you for finding her, rescuing
her, and trusting me with her care.
She was an amazing dog...funny, happy, silly, goofy, loving, and a friend to
all she met. Everyone loved
Lucy. I will never forget her. She came to me when she was about three
years old and went through
disc surgery and learned to walk again. She was a fighter and so she fought
when the vet told us she
had kidney disease. When they told us, there was nothing more they could
do, she still fought for two more years. I am so grateful for all of the
time I had with her. We all still look for her and miss her, but we
got to keep her so much longer because she had so much spirit, and we think
she knew how much we
would miss her.
Sincerely,
Jane Delloye and Family
