Below is a general rundown of information for you and your group's members. Check back here for updates as the parade date approaches.

PARADE DATE: Jan 20th,2008

PARTICIPANT ASSEMBLY TIME: No Later Than 10:30am

PARADE START TIME: 11:30am sharp

FEES: The Doo Dah Parade is FREE to spectators! There is a $10.00 advance entry fee per Marcher. If you plan to march in the parade, please  fill out a Marcher Registration form right away!

WHERE TO GO:

SPECTATORS: The views are great all along the parade route! Check the Online Map for specifics! See the parking directions below.

MARCHERS will assemble in Memorial Park in Old Pasadena. The Park is located on Raymond Avenue between Walnut and Holly Streets (2 blocks north of Colorado Blvd). Except for vehicles, we will be lining up in the park itself, not in the street. For non-parade vehicles see the parking directions below.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR MARCHERS: When you arrive to march, immediately send your contact person to the check-in table near the Raymond Street sidewalk. We need to know you are present as soon as possible to position you in the parade. The person checking in on parade day must be the same person that appears as the contact on the pre-registration form. (See the registration form.)

YOU SHOULD BE PRESENT NO LATER THAN 10:30am ON THE MORNING OF THE PARADE!! At that time we will collect any remaining entry fees from groups and give you entry stickers for each person in the group to wear.

Entry Leaders may want to bring a tall flag or sign to help your group's members find each other and keep organized.

In the past, marchers have become lost in traffic jams as the crowds arrive so be there no later than 10:30am and party with your friends!

Bring bottled water and sun block. Bring a picnic if you like.

PARKING: Parking is located at the County parking structure at Marengo and Ramona Street (about 1 1/2 blocks east of the Park). (Parking is no longer free.) The entrance is on Ramona, a short block below Walnut Street off of Marengo. Floats and other paraphanelia should be dropped off at the Park before you park. The public will not be admitted to this parking so take advantage of it!

MUSIC EQUIPMENT/FLOATS ETC. You should drop off any sound equipment, floats, props, instruments, or other paraphanelia with one of your group members at Memorial Park before parking your car. Call us for more information on larger vehicles or groups of vehicles.

TELEVISION: We will have a wide representation of television and print media covering this years event. The parade is usually covered on all evening news and morning Network news programs, CNN and various other national (even international) outlets and television spots. Of course, your cameras are welcome.

ALONG THE ROUTE: You'll have plenty of time to interact with the crowd, but do not impede the parade's progress. As gaps form the parade is less enjoyable for the crowd. You may hand out materials to the crowd, but please do not throw any items or objects at or to the audience, this includes food or otherwise.

ROUTE: As is the tradition, the parade winds through the heart of old Pasadena. It begins at the corner of Holly and Raymond, goes South on Raymond to Colorado Blvd., and West on Colorado to Pasadena Avenue.

WEATHER: We usually enjoy warm excellent weather for the Doo Dah Parade, so dress for comfort.

PRE-PRARADE: The Pasadena Senior Center (located in Memorial Park) is serving their traditional Doo Dah Pancake Breakfast beginning at 8:00am. Other establishments in the area include Moose McGullycuddy's, Hooters, the Rack Shack, 35er, Barney's, Cheescake Factory, Jamba Juice, among others.

POST-PARADE EVENTS: Lots of activity will be taking place at all of the bars and restaurants in old Pasadena following the parade. But don't forget, the official DooDah Participant Celebration takes place at the Old Towne Pub, located at 66 N. Fair Oaks (at Fair Oaks and Holly St., 2 blocks north of Colorado) right after the event. Join Snotty Scotty and the Hankies and other great bands while we celebrate another year of Doo Dah greatness!
